Cooling bag

The cooling bag (31.5 x 43.5 x 21.5 cm) made of plastic was used with frozen cooling elements to transport goods such as fresh food. Since food shops or restaurants were not available everywhere, it was common in the GDR to take provisions on a journey or excursion. The box has a removable lid and handles made of flexible, soft plastic. The cooling bag is padded on the inside, its smooth material making it easy to clean. The cooling bag is decorated on the outside with prints with tourist themes. Travel motifs, sightseeing highlights, postcards and names of cities and countries are all depicted. Some of the presented countries were not Socialist and could not be visited by GDR citizens, but they often evoked the dream of going there.
