Menus

Collection of four menus from the restaurant and dance café of the former Hotel Lunik in Eisenhüttenstadt, with varying designs. Like most printed menus in the GDR, many pages were written using a typewriter. They offer hot and cold meals and drinks. The dark red menu (29.5 x 15.0 cm) includes a note on Price Category IV. That menu also advertises weekend dance and entertainment events. The second standard menu (25.5 x 14.7 cm) includes an illustration of the hotel and a menu for festive days. But the hotel restaurant also served more exclusive dishes on normal weekdays compared to standard inns. Both menus for the dance café (23.2 x 14.7 cm) include illustrations of factories on their inside and back. They highlighted the origin of the food and drinks from regional production sites.
